I was in Washington for the weekend and decided to try this restaurant. I was seated outdoors, which was very nice, and the food was excellent. I had the Angus filet and highly recommend it. The service, however, was the worse i have ever experienced. After we were seated it was nearly ten minutes before the waiter came to bring us a wine list. We then waited nearly another ten minutes before he came back to take our drink and food orders. The food came in a fairly timely manner, but no one ever came back to check on us. We finally had to track down the waiter to ask for the check after we had been done eating for around twenty minutes. There seemed to be plenty of staffing, but the servers were just slow and indifferent. We were not the only one's that experienced it. Several other tables around us were getting annoyed at how long they had to wait to order or pay their bill. Two elderly gentleman sitting at the table next to us waited literally for 35 minutes after sitting down at their table before they were able to order coffee. They had even stopped different employees several times to ask if they would be served and were told that someone would be on the way, but no one ever came. If you have a lot of patience, the food here is excellent, but the service is the worst I've ever seen. Beware.

I often vist DC for work and stay at the Hamilton, the food at 14K is pretty, pretty good. While the prices are a bit steep, the quality and presentation are there. The bartender and waiter are very friendly and even though I'm usally eating by myself, they make you feel very welcome. I recomend the Ny strip Steak and Chilean Sea Bass, both very good choices.
