Pretty good
Food was overall good, though the sauces were way too salty. I still enjoyed the experience and would go back. I had the veal grillades for entree, and my husband got the duck. His was not as salty as mine. Apps were good, though my gumbo was again, too salty. Would go again to see if the food is less salty because I think overall nicely executed dishes.

Very good food
Had their bbq shrimp, which was very good. Though it's advertised as the top 25 dish according to USA Today, I am not sure that's an accurate assessment. For the price, I would say it's good.

Very Pleased
Many appealing entrees to choose from. Always a good sign when you narrow it down to three or four entrees that you could be happy with. In our group, we tried the Crawfish Etoufee, Barbecue Shrimp and Grilled Redfish. All were very good. The broth for the Barbecue Shrimp was perfect. The etoufee and shrimp dishes were not as spicy as they are prepared in New Orleans, but still very tasty. Cheese grits as a side were fine, but nothing special. The starter choices were diversified, but not ones that appeared to be easy to share. We settled on oysters on the half shell which were also very good. Nice wine list; reasonably priced. The decor and service were above average, and in all it was a very nice experience. Would definitely try again.

Too Heavy on the Salt Shaker
We went to Acadiana for lunch. The fried green tomatoes were tasty as an appetizer. While the breading was a bit heavy, the gulf shrimp and remoulade were very good. The entrees, however, were another story. I had tried the blackened tilapia on an earlier visit and thought it was good, but this time someone in the kitchen had used way, way too much salt in both the coating for the tilapia and the accompanying collard greens, making them inedible. Luckily the waiter agreed to take it off our bill. But this was very disappointing. They also do not filter their tap water here, and since DC has a problem with lead in the water we got bottled water instead. Acadiana has a nicely designed space, but when it gets crowded (as it often is at lunchtime) it becomes very noisy and hard to hear the conversation at your own table. The service was very good, but couldn't make up for the overly salty food.
