Exceedingly Ordinary
After reading several glowing reviews, we decided to visit this place during our trip to DC. We decided to book ahead, and it's a good thing we did, because there was a line out the door. The mixed green salad had a bit much dressing, but the appetizers were fairly ordinary. We had the pasta with Porcini mushrooms, as well as the pasta with swordfish, peppercorns and tomatoes (which didn't have any tomatoes) and I am forced to say that the food was fairly mediocre, perfectly ordinary, and not anything special. I don't really see why there was such a huge line in the first place. We didn't stay for dessert, and we had to stop for Tums on the way back. Will not be returning.

Delish!
Went there Sat. 4/2 for my b-day and we had a couple of appatizers: We ordered the Ricotta Spinach balls as well as the fresh creamy mozzerella cheese and proshuito plate. They were both DELISH! And the wonderful drink with an eggwhite was most delish. I will be going there again. It is a bit spendy, but I think it's worth it.

Wonderful experience!
Having waited a long time for a quality Italian restaurant on Capitol Hill, we were so happy with our experience this week at Acqua Al2. We tried the 5-pasta vegetarian sampler as an appetizer. The pasta's were all delicious and each was cooked perfectly. We concluded with the dessert sampler to share. All of the desserts were fresh and appealing and each was a special treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. If you are looking for an inexpensive bowl of spaghetti, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for interesting and delicious food at a less than extravagant price, make a reservation. In comparison with high-priced Washington restaurants, it is a bargain.

I left with an empty pocket and still hungry
Went for lunch. The food and service are great but the food is extremely expensive and servings are small. Our lunch (2 entrees, iced tea) left us $50 poorer and I was still hungry.
