Great Neighboorhood Restaurant!
Al Crostini - we walked into on day as it always looked packed as we strolled by (living 4 blocks away). So we stopped in and everything really was quite good! We are now huge fans and it's our favorite place to have tagliatelle and pappardelle! Really excellent with great sauces, a portion just enough so that you're craving more! The ambiance could be a bit more cozy for my taste though - reminds me of Jack Tripper's restaurants in Three's Company - like a TV sitcom set of the 1970s. Can't remember the bread - but I think it could be better. All is all though, a GREAT place to eat... simple Italian, the way it should be!

Fantastic experience!
We didn't expect such a great experience at all. We thought that it would be a regular italian meal but not at all. Right from the start the services was impeccable and very friendly. Then the food was absolutely heavenly! No other way to describe it. We had most of the specials; the meat and risotto were both perfect. From start to finish there was nothing that can be criticized. Oh, and the Pannacotta is amazing. The wine was also extremely good and for a reasonable price. Although the whole meal is a little pricey it is seriously worth every penny!

Great Find!
In the dog days of July, a friend and I were looking for a place to eat on U street. Overcome by the heat, we decided to stop walking and went into Al Crostino. Not only was the food wonderful, the staff was fabulous. They made great suggestions on food and wine! Truly a wonderful experience!
