Great Persian Food and Kabab Experience
I am a kabab-o-holic. My 30+ extra lbs prove this point :-). This place is Shamshiry, Next Generation. The food is fantastic, the waiters are well-trained, polite and attentive and the twin-sisters and their Mom who own the place, run it professionally and seem to appreciate feedback (good and bad). I have fully switched to them from Shamshiry after 10-12 or so years. Try the "Mirza-ghassemi" appetizer which is a Northern Iranian dish, vegetarian too if you're so inclined, made of eggplant, garlic, onions and tomatoes. The other best Mirza-ghassemi I have had in North America (or East Coast at least) was in Toronto (North York, ONT) Shomal Restaurant. Alborz meets or beats! The Alborz Kababs are tasty, light and you can have them with Rice, Salad or half & half. Other menu entrees such as the Stews are tasty, not oily and approved by many of my friends - who are expert Persian food cooks themselves. The place is clean and welcoming. I hope they keep up the quality level they have. Price is reasonable relative to the comptetitors and overall, this is the place I would go to for sit-down Persian food. Take out of course is also available. I just wish they would get a bread-making oven so we get hot bread at the table. That is my only complaint. Enjoy!
