It's not only tops for kabob and the accompanying light-as-feathers fragrant rice! The Persian soups, the 'polos' (with meat and/or veg/fruit steamed into rice) and the light stews of same poured onto rice are authentically subtle in taste but satisfyingly hearty meals.

I have been to almost every Persian restaurant in the DMV and I must say that their food is the very best. The atmosphere is luxurious and the service is superb. The owner comes out and greets us to make sure the food is okay every single time. I would recommend going to Amoo's to almost anyone. My kids also love the food which is a big plus. The staff is friendly and very generous, they always treat my kids to something of no charge...whether it's the yogurt sauce or dessert at the end. Best food and service in Northern Virginia. Everyone should try it.

I live in Maryland which there are many Kabob house restaurants close by to my home. I would much rather make the trip to Virgina to Dine with my family at Amoos or have a take out. Over the years my family and friends have patronized the restaurant many times and always have been happy with the food, service and atmosphere. I order food for our parties large or small, since the portion are good and priced right. Most of all the owner always greets me with big smile.

i discovered this place by mere coincidence. i was looking for a pastry shop near there and i remembered seeing Amoos. since my husband and i love to try new things with bargain prices, we went. their kobideh is the best i have ever had since i left my homecountry "morocco". the meal kobideh that has two pieces is enough for two people. we never order two entrees, my husband and i, we just order one meal and eat our heart out. it's more than enough for two people. i never miss on the chance of ordering a pot of iranian tea. it's so delicious and it's exactly what we need after a big meal. it helps with the digestion and it also serves as a dessert because i drink real sweet. their food is hands down the best iranian food in this area. the proof, you go in and you find only iranian people!

I've been to this place since it first opened several years ago...the best experience I've had however, was when I went there recently. Everything was great and so was the girl working that day ;)

i must say, i was a skeptic because of all the gossip behind this place. everyone said the food was great but i had mixed messages about the service. but fortunately i checked it out and am glad i did. the lady who served us was apparently the owner or manager, but she was kind, funny, whitty and generous. her description of the foods were precise and mouthwatering!! i could tell she was a cook herself. she did not hesitate to bring us samples when we could not decide on what type of rice to choose from. the restuarant it self is a sight to see. the food portion was huge, fresh and perfect. i have never had kobideh this good. the fillet mignon was juicy and tender. all u could taste was the quality meat. it was not covered up with any spices or marinades that took away from or over welmed the flavor. i ordereed the Soltani which was the most expensive dish on the menue @ $19.55 but for the portion of fillet mignon and the 1 lb ground chuck kabob all the rice... it was a bargain. i pigged out and actually finished the entire plate, but that is a feat not everyone can accomplish!! so for the average joe or jane, count on plenty of left overs! at the end of the meal, we were so stuffed we could not even move, but our server brought us a pot of hot fresh brewed tea "on the house". she said it will help the digestion and wake us up which it did. this is my first time writing a review and i do this not only for the food but more for the service. she deserves recognition for her genuine attitude! good luck Amoo's, i will refer u to everyone!
