excellent eating choice for H St Theater

The food is very good (we had the cod dinner) and reasonably priced, with good draft beer and wine selections. The service is excellent, the atmosphere lively and friendly. It is an excellent choice for dinner before a show at the H Street Theater, which is one block away. We found parking on H St. right next to the restaurant.

    Where everybody knows your name...

We have lived in the H Street corridor for 2 and a half years and love love love the Argonaut! It is nice to have a neighborhood pub that serves up good eats and a good time. Whether we're having a family get together, an after work happy hour, or a birthday party for friends in the neighborhood, this is the hangout we always choose! Catfish po' boy, fuji fontina, and the hangar steak are my current favorites!

    It has potential

I believe it has great potential with the H Street revitalization and may be better in the warmer months when the outdoor seating area is open... they just need to work on service and the smell. We were a table of 8 and practically the only customers in the place. We ordered chips and guacamole while reviewing the menu. We had no utensils and no napkins. When we got the chips and guacamole we also asked for napkins... our server brought us 3 napkins for a table of 8 people. There was only a handful of other customers in the place, so she couldn't even blame it on being busy and distracted with other customers! I suggest sticking with beer or wine b/c the mixed drinks were sketchy. The food was pretty good: we had the cuban, fuji apple sandwhich, and pulled pork. I recommend the sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. I definitely think there is potential, but doubt my friends and I will go back.
