Homey
Homey and quiet ! You can actually hear your conversation. The food takes time - like an old fashioned restaurant. It's a great neighborhood meeting place.

worth the money
Armand's is the best pizza in town, hands down. At fifteen bucks or more a pie before tax/tip, the price is kinda high, but you'll know where that extra couple bucks went. Their original chicago combo rocks, but they've got a couple more imaginative options too, including a thai deep dish that's fantastic. They're kind of cold to you on the phone when you order, kinda feels like you're ordering a hit on somebody. So there's that.

Tired Pasta, but good garlic bread!
I went to Armands for lunch but was terribly disappointed. I had the idea that I wanted pasta, so I went for penne with chicken, artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers. The white sauce had no taste. Perhaps it was made with a roux and cheese, but it seemed like it had no seasoning. I kept having to add salt and pepper, and it still seemed lacking. Perhaps if I'd done the lunch buffet ( pizza selections, salads) I would have done better. Also, the waitress cleaned tables as she explained the buffet, didn't look at me when she was talking and mumbled. Armand's has subpar service.
