    Modern spin on classic food

Art and soul was the first restaurant we ate at upon arriving in DC and it did not disappoint! It put an interesting spin on some classic southern meals--we tried the BLT (it was the best I have ever had) and the trout hocakes (different, but great). The atmosphere was trendy, modern, and there is a great outdoor porch to eat on during warm weather. This is definitely a spot worth checking out and worth the slightly pricey meal!

    Over-hyped

Did a lunch here with a group of 8. Service was slow, food was fine-but please nothing to go on Oprah about. Feels like the place lives on the idea of a important Wash. D. C. Rest. ORDINARY.

    Over-rated

They try too hard. Good food is good food, and this had potential but was pretty pedestrian. Great if you like a glossy atmosphere, I guess.
