I have been to B. Smiths a few times. It is absolutely beautiful. However, for the prices that they charge, the food is average at best. I had a particularly bad experience with a waiter who was rude, and when I asked for my chicken to be replaced, brought it back and told me that the Chef said that if this chicken breast was not right, then they couldn't do anything else, because that is just the way they cook it. The breast was just overcooked and dry--nothing complicated. For these prices, I feel like they should step up their service and their menu.

Five of us were in town from Ohio the weekend of Augsut 1, 2009 to attend a play at the Kennedy Center and had dinner before hand at B Smith's. This was our first visit and wanted to eat at this restaurant. The collard greens tasted like they came from a can (not fresh collard greens), the mac & cheese was not good and the fish was just okay. The waiter placed our order and once food was served, he never appeared again unless we called for him and the place was not that busy. Maybe because his tip was already in the bill (table of 5 of more people) he felt no need to check on us. very disappointing.
