Declining Service
I discovered Bambu shortly after it opened, and was delighted to find such a selection of delicious food at reasonable prices. Sadly, Bambu is not what it used to be. The prices have risen, while the quality has declined; but worst of all, the service is utterly appalling. It's quite common for the waitstaff to completely ignore your existence, and even if you do manage to get their attention, they are rude and dismissive. They treat their customers as though they are a nuisance, and it's shocking how disrespectful they can be. I can only conclude that they don't really care about their customers at all, which is a shame. I've continued going to this place far too long, hoping that my experiences were flukes, but alas, this rudeness is the new norm. Take your business elsewhere; that's what I'll be doing.

good value & great food in Pallisades DC
Bambu has an interesting mix of foods (sushi, thai, chinese, and japanese) Their menu by necessity keeps the options short for each food type. I've eaten there a dozen times and each time I go back find something different to try that turns out to pleasantly surprise me. They are also fairly kid friendly and the place has an upbeat vibe. I think their sushi dishes are their weakest offerings, decent but nothing like the best DC has to offer. Their Thai and Chinese is good with some occasional stars. I especially like their noodle dishes and soups. The lunch bento boxes are tasty, well priced and service is quick. They are a welcome addition to the Macarthur blvd corridor.
