I was really dissappointed with Bar Pilar. After googling "cocktails in dc" and seeing that this place was listed on the top 5 list i decided i had to give it a try. Their cocktail list was 5 drinks long...yes, 5 lousy drinks. They had tons of wine options and the bar was fully stocked so they could probably make you anything you wanted but we didn't stick around long enough to find out. The beer selection wasn't all that great and it just seemed kind of snobby. I wouldn't go back although it's not because the drink i had was horrible - i was just dissappointed that it got such rave reviews when it was nothing special and lacked the warmth and personality of other bars.

I went here for happy hour. I only had a few of the tapas, but they were all good, some really good. They did serve me a glass of wine that was stale, but the bartender was very obliging when I pointed it out and asked for a glass from a new bottle.
