Although the building is painted bright yellow, I am surprised as to the number of Old Town regulars who don't know of Bilbo Baggins. I have eaten here about 10 times in 4 years - with family, friends and business, for lunch and dinner. The food is very good and innovative - competing well with more higher cost establishments nearby. The wine and beer list is extensive. I have gotten rave reviews from recent business dinners. It is a great place to take our out-of-town business guests as the menu is varied and not predictable, the drink selection is great, and the atmosphere is not loud nor rushed.

Somehow Bilbo Baggins confused Tolkien's "The Hobbit" with an English pub, and got both wrong (although their bread is good, and they do have a beer pub that's promising). Dishes too complicated, prices too high, service just so. Lots of dark wood veneer. Whatever happened to simple beef, cheese, bread and beer? Bilbo or Frodo wouldn't have been impressed. If you want a decent Middle Earth menu, look up National Lampoon's spoof entitled "Bored of the Rings." Enough.
