    great steak

Everyone at our table of 6 had a delicious meal served with style. Popovers excellent. Servers all seemd very interested in making us happy and meal cooked to our liking. Full, upbeat , DC restaurant that I am giving gift certificate to friends. Definitely go back.

    Great service and good eats

As a frequent visitor to the DC area I like to try different restaurants on the companys dime. BLT Steaks atmosphere can be intimidating, because the staff gives off a snobby vibe, however the service was extrodinary. All my needs were attended to right away, whenever I was finished with my drink and dinner. I had the Rack of Lamb which was very tender and not fatty at all. I also had raw clams which were great, I guess the only downfall to BLT is the price, very expensive. Lastly as far as the atmospher, I went right after work and the place was filled with Power brokers and politicians.

Gives DC Dining a Bad Name

BLT is totally mediocre. Our waiter was poor, acting put upon from the moment we sat down. Popovers were good, but too busy (cheese, butter and a giant salt shaker). The crab appetizer tasted like nothing, the steak tasted like grill and the fish was bland. The dessert special tasted good, but an attempt at whimsy was poorly executed. The atmosphere left much to be desired - think lots of leathery 45-year-old cleavage and silver chest hair spilling from half-buttoned shirts. There are at least a dozen restaurants in DC where one can get similar cuisine, that actually tastes good, for similar prices (or cheaper).

Wait 6 months before going there

The menu reads better than it tastes, the seasoning is not up to par with expectations as it is over or under done but never right. The restaurant may be too busy too soon with a staff not prepared to service the crowd. The management should control the reservation book so they can control the quality of service which is far below what we expect from a fine restaurant. The presentation of the food is worth the trip so wait a while before you go.

    would not go back

The food was excellent. The wine was excellent. The place looks great, but is a bit loud. Everything else was a disaster. We waited an hour to be seated after arriving on time for our reservation. The restaurant was out of every steak on the menu except the filet mignon and the kobe beef. Service was far from attentive--once our food came, we were forgotten about. Dirty plates were cleared only after sitting on our table for 20 minutes. We had to ask for dessert and coffee. We witnessed a number of arguments between the manager annd upset customers. We will not be going back.
