Maybe It's Because They Are New?

During the July 2012 heatwave in DC, my partner and I decided we wanted to go out for dinner one Saturday night. We looked online, hoping to find somewhere that served seafood and had a relaxed atmosphere. The atmosphere was incredible! We sat a round table at a window and watched the various TV screens, hoping to get another glimpse of Serena Williams after her victory at the Women's Wimbledon. We did! We sat and ordered. The waitress was very attentive in the beginning. She was very nice and kind and informative about the restaurant. She was really busy, though, and soon after our food arrived, she was almost completely gone! It took us about 15 minutes to get our bill and about another 10 minutes to finally pay the bill. Honestly, I think our waitress was way too busy, leading me to believe Chasin' Tails may want to hire more wait staff. The food was good; nothing to write home about. The portions were almost nil. We decided to order the fried stuff on the right side of the menu, as neither of us was in the mood for lots of work cracking crabs. I ordered the fried shrimp and they were buried under a pound of cornmeal batter. Everything was fried in cornmeal batter and I had to keep hearing my partner say that fried oysters (that is what he ordered) are not supposed to be fried in cornmeal batter. If you are looking for a spot to hang out after work or after a game or something and you are NOT hungry, then this is your spot. Otherwise, just go to McDonald's or something.
