OK, I am a baseball fan, so I like the Chinatown Clyde's with the picture of Babe Ruth just inside the door! I have been dining at Clyde's for over 30 years. They are consistently good. Food is very dependable, even if somewhat predictable. This a good thingyou won't be surprised with something yucky. But you will leave with your socks on. If you want your socks knocked off you have to go to their 1789 Room in Georgetown. You will also leave with your wallet reasonably intact. It is not cheap, but what is? You get what you pay for. Figure $25-30 per person. There are better deals but you really have to search for them, and they are few and far between any more, and hit or miss on the first try or two. My chief objection to this Clyde's is that it is usually very noisy and the service is often indifferent. They don't seem to understand that tips are EARNED. Still, I don't hesitate to recommend it. I have never eaten anything at Clyde's that I didn't enjoy.

Each Clyde's has a different aspect the one at Mark Center is smack-dab young middle class out to have a good time. There's lots of room, although that can be eaten up very quickly, the wait staff know what they're doing, there're are plenty of areas to wait until a table opens up (indoors snug, indoors for show, a bar, and outside), and all the time though there's noise there's nothing oppresive. The food is well prepared. Value is reasonable, although a full soup-to-nuts meal can be pricey. Check out their raw bar, for one thing, and see if they have any lamb specials. Or stick to a trusty Clyde's burger. The menu is quite extensive. So, engage those around you in polite conversation really try to save room for dessert. And this is one place where it's not out of place to have an after-dinner port.

I live close and this is the best clyde's around, in my opinion. The menu posted here is very outdated though; many things listed that are not on the current menu. If you sit at the bar for happy hour it's almost 1/2 price most apps and sandwiches. Their crab cake sandwich is fantastic; very little "filler." Staff is always very attentive and knowledgable about the menu and specials. A great place for all ages!
