It ain't Le Cirque But....
It's been a while since I've been to CB's and I just saw the menu. I'm a little in shock that the Nacho's have been taken off the menu. How many nights I went out for a pitcher and nacho's with friends (usually turned out to be more then one pitcher of beer). Nacho's were just like CB's menu - not too over the top with gunk but clean and have great jalepeno's on top. They should be on the menu immediately - as a matter of fact, I believe they actually made there own tortillas. They have a great selection of beers and the food is a lot better then you would think at a tavern up in Northeast. Seems to me some of these reviews were expecting something a little bit more extravangant. CB's is WAY WAY WAY better then any Applebees or TGIF - or any of those chain places. It's truly a nieghborhood place. I have to say, I can't ever recall being disappointed and was often surprised by the quality of the food - especially the pastas. The pasta with seafood in them were always excellent. I have to say - if I ever opened up a bar/tavern - CB's would be my blueprint. I see that recently they have had issues with service which is a shame. I know in my many years of going there, I used to see the same waitresses. I hadn't been there in a good 5 years and visited my alma mater and decided to stop by and was shocked to see the same waitresses - and even more amazing is that they remembered me. Sounds to me that may not be the case anymore. Great Place - if you in the area and your hungry or thirsty should be your first stop.

never again
not sure what happened over the last few years, but the last time I was there was late on a saturday night. the bar menu was the only option, which was ok. the calamari was barely cooked, let alone crispy. my friend had a burger he say was disappointing. the bartender was not very attentive and very slow in acknowledging our presence, he was more in tuned to serving college kids way too many variations of cocktails. i hope they walked home.

Long Time Customer
I recommend it to anyone wanting a wonderful meal in a neighborhood environment. The food is scrumptious and plenty is served. The staff and the management are great with getting you seated. The Tuesday and sometimes Saturday evening Jazz is great.

A Neighborhood Gem
This is a cherished neighborhood pub and tavern in Brookland. Founded in the 1970s, Colonel Brooks is a local fave. Their menu is filled with basic tavern fare (which they execute perfectly) but they change up their menu every 6 months or so to keep things fresh. Look for their daily specials. This has been a consistent restaurant in these parts, weathering fads in dining and urban ups and downs.

Poor Dining Experience.
The service was extremely slow. The food was mediocre at best. The manager was surey. A 20% tip was unilaterally added to the check. Do yourself a favor and don't eat here.

Good Old Fashioned Customer Service
Great place to eat , delicious drinks, tasty key lime pie and hugh sandwiches with outstanding customer service, which is hard to find nowaday. I would recommend Colonel Brooks Tavern to all my friends.
