I used to LOVE this place. I mean LOVE. The truffle mushrooms were amazing. I craved them. The shrimp and grits to die for. But the last time I visited, everything was worse. Did they recently change ownership? Everything tasted like it was being watered down or replaced in order to save money. The truffle mushrooms were not good. Flavorless button mushrooms replaced the Shiitake they used to make them with. The truffle taste was light and not very flavorful. The Shrimp and Grits tasted off and ended up giving me a stomachache. My friend ordered the mussels, which she declined to eat after a few bites. She said they tasted weird. It was a sad experience. Worst $100 I've spent in a long time.

This place deserves a higher rating than it has. It has been consistently good every time I have been there. The wild mushroom appetizer is great. The roast chicken is probably the best I've had in DC. Creme is a great place for a casual dinner.

I was also once asked to leave the restaurant because there were people waiting for the table - hadn't even ordered dessert yet. The next time I went back (I know, my bad), I waited 45 minutes despite having reservations because "they could not possible ask people to leave". Really added insult to injury. I left before my table was ready. Really not worth it.

The waitress was warm, welcoming and helpful. We knew immediately that we had come to the right place. The atmosphere was lively and attractive. The mussels appetizer was plenty for two, and very delicious. We asked for extra bread to soak up more of the wonderful broth - I joked about using my straw. The entrees were just as good, and we were stuffed. The service was some of the best I've had in ages. This was one of the most delighting total dining experiences that I've enjoyed in the last year. I hope to return - often.

Had a reservation and they gave us a time limit. Seriously. They didn't take our orders for half an hour. My food got their 15 minutes before the time they thought we woudl be done. When I asked to see the dessert menu they said I could order but they would have to take our table away. Needless to say we skipped dessert and won't return. This was during restaurant week, but the poor service was inexcusable. They booked too many reservations back to back and pushed people in and out like cattle. Since they've changed management it's not the same.

The food here is great, especially the mushroom appetizer that everyone talks about. The short ribs were also tasty. The waitstaff was helpful, the drinks were strong. I liked this place a lot.
