Epic, eh?
We eat and have drinks out almost every night. This was a Sunday night in , around 6:30pm-ish. Pork and beef dishes, scallop, and mac and cheese dish was pretty good, the rest was either forgettable or actually NOT tasty. Caesar salad, yummy but with sweet nuts? Bar beverages, good. Service, okay. Decor, very nice. Odd parking situation--bring quarters if you get lucky enough for close spaces. Across the street from the Pentagon City Costco if you have to park across the street. (GPS could not pinpoint it, but we found it by their street sign when we went around the block.) While we may have just made some poor menu choices (meaning maybe the place is better than we experienced), there are too many really GREAT places for us to give it another try...

Epic Wins!
After eating at Epic on three separate occasions I do not understand some of the reviews I've read! Each time I've visited the food and service has been impeccable! Whoever trained the wait staff should be praised! I've tried multiple items off the menu, the filet mignon and brisket are by far my favorite, and the French onion soup, despite what the previous person wrote, was fantastic, and flavorful! The staff, and management team were attentive and readily available! These guys know what they are doing! Keep up the EPIC job!

Not epic at all
This was my first time there for lunch. I was hoping for some really good bbq. But to my disappointment, this place wasn't even close. Flavor and quality of meat, I'd say it's average. Nothing epic at all. Food seemed to have been sitting in the back for a while. Not really hot out of the smoker as you would think. The chicken was dry to the point where the edge of the meat would crunch. My friends burger was decent though. Meat was cooked a bit too long. The bread was too much for the size of the meat. all in all, just a mediocre smokehouse.

Not really A Smokehouse
This was our second time there. The first time, the service was slow and they didn't have soup because they did not receive their bowls. Second time, was even more disappointing. Service was good, but the onion soup was greasy; hardly any cheese; a few onions. (And I know French onion soup because my family are french). The combo platter (roasted chicken, ribs and brisket) was plain; no taste and chicken was not moist. Salad was ok but not great. Their ribs and other meat offerings are not outstanding; maybe OK. You really can't compare this to any "north carolina" smoke vendor. It may have the tag "smokehouse" but it's not even close.

Love it - Arlington's Answer to DC
Epic is a brilliant smokehouse. This is our new favorite place and we are total DC foodies. To start, we had the Bacon App (pork belly with a spin), entrees Duroc Pork (pork loin with a mild peppery crust and a faint hint of something like coffee) and Brisket. All three plates were practically licked. The kicker was dessert - a chocolate cupcake with small bits of soft bacon throughout with a maple brown sugar icing and topped with sugared hot peppered bacon. Heaven! Ask for Dan C. as your server. Love that every seat in the place has a view of the open kitchen or street - no staring at walls. No, this is not your backyard BBQ place, but why on earth would you want that in Pentagon City? We have enough annoying chain restaurants. Welcome Epic!
