First of all it's under new management (for two weeks), I'm inclined to give them a break but too many things went wrong yesterday to be the fault of growing pains. It has gone downhill quickly since a new manager came on. First of all, was the smell, it smelled musty and moldy. It was obviously being remodeled. Don't they normally close a restaurant while it's being remodeled? Then, I tried to get my usual burger, the Swiss Burger and was told by the self-described the day manager (who acted as our waitress) that was impossible because they had no Swiss Cheese. So I ordered the three meat pizza and when it came it was orange and greasy, like they had put cheddar cheese on it. It was unappetizing from the start. I didn't see any sign that they used mozzarella. The pizza was inedible.It was too salty (like maybe the manager was trying to sell more drinks, but I don't think so, she obviously didn't know how it tasted) Now which brings me to another point, they sell things that they haven't even TASTED themselves. My son ordered BBQ chicken wings that tasted "weird". He also noted that we didn't get the popcorn that was his favorite experience, that makes this place special in his mind. I saw a man walking around behind the counter who was counting the money (It's important to note that he wasn't introducing himself and asking the patrons what they thought of the new menu). I asked to see the General Manager and lo and behold he was it. He gave me excuses, like he had told the wait staff to give the customer what he/she wanted, and he actually HAD swiss cheese, obviously he didn't tell the "day manager/waitress" about that. I told him the pizza was inedible (that was his cue to offer something else on the menu and take the plate off the table). He just made more excuses, like he was going to change the menu to include fresh mozzarella on their pizzas, but that didn't do me any good! To top it off when I told him I wasn't coming back, another cue to offer to make things right. He only said "There's nothing more to be said." and left the table. I noticed him taking my waitress to task about the Swiss cheese hamburger. So she was sullen and peremptory when she came to return my Gift Certificate and she had charged us for the WHOLE meal. Overall, I had taken my 12 yr old son to have a nice meal at his favorite restaurant, and was severely and utterly disappointed.

I went with friends a few weeks ago for brunch, and we positively enjoyed Fireflies. A couple of us got waffles with different toppings. Mine was fantastic- bananas with homemade butterscotch. At first glance, I didn't think there was enough topping, but I was mistaken. By the end I realized it was really the perfect amount. Other friends got the omelette, and although I didn't taste them, they looked good. I was told they enjoyed them as well. I had the cheesy grits on the side, and I was happy. Not too cheesy, not too plain. The bluegrass band playing was a big plus. Love the musicians. The interior was plain but nice. Walls are painted a nice dark brown. I will be happy to come back!
