A franchise that hasn't gone downhill
Imagine eating at Five Guys when it was their first location at S. Glebe and Columbia Pike in Arlington. Staff provided their own music, at high decibels. Since then Five Guys has multiplied like a self-replicating Neumann device. Quality has not gone down, but remained consistent. The burgers are good, the number of toppings is amazing, and the fries are generous in quantity and good if not spectacular. A fully topped Five Guys burger is a cause for a bib. Do not go for the hot dogs, cheese, chili, or whatever. The taste is off. I'm resolved to try their veggie and grilled cheese sandwiches the next time I drop by. Plus a cheese burger.

Best burgers & fries
Small menu, tiny dining room, doesn't take credit cards. But the burgers and fries are so good, none of this matters.
