It was Great!
I thougth this place was great! I went there for Valentine's I was really inpressed with the atmosphere and the food. The salad bar had a nice [select]ion and the meats were good. The price was a bit too expensive however I kept in mind that I was eating pricy meats. I was told before hand that the drinks were expensive and they do not do free refills so i got water. If you want a special place to go this is it. I have lived in the area for a year and this is by far the best yet. It is a different dinig experence that I highly recommend.

anything but ordinary
i'll admit i was taken as a guest to the restaurant so price was not a concern but regardless, i plan to treat others to the great experience and food at fogo de chao. the salad bar was the perfect start with all the delicious food you ever thought to put on a saled plus some. with their creative system of serving, the waiters were more than attentive and did an outstanding job of meeting our needs. the desserts were delicious and the assortment of after dinner drinks were also a hit. if you agree that good food outweighs a steep price, go. and go hungry!

Nice but Pricey Place
My friend from work referred me to this restaurant. Place was nice, food was excellent, location is in Downtown DC. On minus side this restaurant was packed with people and very noisy. Dinner price + juices + tea + tip for two of us came up to $140. Price for buffet was $48.50. It is a little pricey since one can not try all 16 types of meats anyway. After trying couple of meats and sidedish, I was really full within 25 minutes. Anyway, price was too steep, but food was good. Drinks are charged and you can break the bank if you order wines (thanks God, I did not). Really you paying for their service as for $50 one can buy all kinds of selected meat from the store and cook it and keep $90 and spend it for something else. Selection of deserts was very weak, nothing brazilian, just regular creme brule, mousse, rtc. THIS PLACE IS FOR SOMEBODY WITH LOTS OF MONEY WHO HAS NOT EATEN FOR DAYS! Otherwise, you can not get the value of the price you pay as it is impossible to taste everything that this place offers.

Service/Food Definitely not worth Price
I recently tried Fogo de Chao a few weeks ago and was incredibly dissapointed with the overall experience. First off, even with my 8pm reservation, we had to wait 35 minutes at the bar to be seated. When we were finally seated, the server was rude to us. In fact, when asking about the wines, he literally said "I dont know" and walked away and never returned. We waited about 10 minutes and had to flag another server down who instead of taking our wine order said "she will get our server" - who never returned to our table all night except when we had to flag him down to get the bill..To be honest, I would have rather spent my time/money at a more upscale restaurant where the service is much more attentive and polite...I can say that I do not recommend Fogo when dining in DC...

Having done many of these...
Having done many of these types I appreciate Fogo. The side dishes are fine. Request the black beans, better than the mashed potatoes that come served to gringos. Potatoes definitely need pepper. The meats are great, all Angus. Anyone who says bland is a "FOODIE" and a worshiper of Sietsema. A1 is available. No Bearnaise/Hollandaise not available when I went. We were there for MEAT anyway, not SAUCES. Simple carnivorous pleasures. Awesome service in a different perspective. Lose the food critics, SCREW the critics. A veritable meat market for all with option for salad bar only people. The place to go for a group wanting to gorge and celebrate. NOT for VALENTINE'S COUPLES! No intimacy, just fun and indulgence!

If you like food...
If you like food this is the place to be!!! I had a dinner outing with several friends for my husbands birthday and there wasn't any disappointed faces in the bunch. The selection of meats was wonderful. Even my cousin, an extreme vegitarian, enjoyed the salad bar. This WILL be put on my restaurant list!
