Fratelli

We have been occasional diners at Fratelli 2 on S. Van Dorn for several years now. We have always enjoyed our selections. Last night my husband and I had the $38.95 dinner for two - he enjoyed veal parm and I had chicken francese. We always order the fried mozzarella appetizer that is perfectly seasoned and fried, and served with a light lemon sauce. Each time we visit we wonder why it's so long between the times we dine there. A new year's resolution will be to change that.

Only gave it a 4.5 because I have had better but for way more $$ . It is great food especially for the $. Not to expensive. Good service, just plane looking inside and out.

This has been my favorite resturant since my first meal there shortly after they opened. Atmosphere is great, noise level is low with quiet Italian music in the background. I don't have to shout when talking. Manuel, Martha and crew have a great resturant. Sunday Brunch is the best in town. I've requested my birthday dinner there for this evening. Should be a party of 11 family members. :-)

Because of a friend we went there about two years ago and have never had a bad meal. Monday thru Thursday specials are outstanding in both quality, price and selection. We go there at least twice a week. Jose and his wife Martha, as well as son Jason along with the staff Idaia, Demaris & Everett provide wonderful style family atmosphere and friendly service! Go there soon!

Went there for lunch with a friend, had the Pollo Terra Mare and the Shrimp Scampi. Both were wonderful! Lunch included fresh bread, salad and choice of vege or spaghetti. Service was great and the bill with tax was under $20. I will go back any chance I get!

Last Sunday (first snowfall in VA), we celebrated my mother-in-law’s 95th birthday at this restaurant. She loves Italian food. We have had dinner here but never a party. We had 20 guests, everyone showed up, even with the bad weather. The food was excellent, as always. Great atmosphere for family gathering, you really feel at home. The chef and his wife are the owners and they are there all the time. We definitely will go back to celebrate especial occasions. This is one of our favorite restaurants. Best kept secret in Alexandria.

I ordered take-out from here and even on the ride home hesitated on my choice from ordering from here. The bag was leaking, the standard boxes were falling apart...however, the food was surprisingly tasty and quality. For the dollar, it exceeds most pizza places and would provide a great Friday night alternative.
