I ate here for lunch on a Saturday because even though the food is mediocre, it's close to where I work. The menu they gave me had lunch prices and dinner prices, so I assumed I would be charged for lunch since I was there at 12:45PM. Instead, I was charged the dinner price and informed by the waitress that "We only serve dinner portions on Saturdays." Nowhere on the menu does it say that! I should have refused to pay until they fixed it, since this was downright deceptive, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and left (and even tipped 20%!). But at the end of the day, I checked their website and there was no mention of this weekend exception there either! So I went back figuring that if I explained this nicely, they'd be fair about it and give me a price adjustment. Instead, the manager (who also served me for lunch) shuts down any argument I have by saying "That's our policy, that's always been our policy" over and over. He even lied to my face, claiming that he told me at the start of the meal about this disclaimer. If that wasn't bad enough, when I try to tell him that he said no such thing to me, he WALKS AWAY in the middle of me trying to talk to him. "Do whatever you want!" he said with his back to me.

Haad Thai Restaurant is somewhat smallish, caually comfortable, and very clean. Lunch can sometimes be very busy, but the staff is smiling, professional, permanent, and very efficient at their work. Dinner is quieter and more relaxed so there is more time to explore the delightful menu. The prices are reasonable and the servers are very attentive. I recommend the salmon entrees and the Thai iced tea.

I don't believe people go here for a good Thai food experience- rather for convenience of the location (near a number of offices). The Thai food here is sub-par, at best. The atmosphere and service are both average. However, the food lack all the charm and the basic ingenuity of Thai food. I would recommend Thai chilli 10 mins walk away, which has a much better ambience, offers better value, and infintiely better food.

My husband and I love good Thai food, and Haad Thai is the best in DC! The food is SO fresh and delicious. The spices are amazing! If you like calamari, it is excellent at Haad Thai. It's made with a light and crispy tempura batter. and served with an incredible sweet n spicy chili dipping sauce. We almost always order the Panang Gai and Pad Thai. Both are excellent and the dishes compliment each other. The service is always good. The ambiance is romantic yet casual. Oh, and the drinks are yummy too. Try the Long Island iced tea...it packs a punch!

My co-workers and I eat here quite often and I have not had any bad experiences. The food was great and the service is quick especially when you are on limited time.
