I just moved to the area, and immediately felt the need to sample the closest Indian restaurant. Every dish was superb. The flavors were fantastic, and I couldn't have asked for better. Haandi is much better than any of the "trendy" Indian restaurants found in downtown DC. I'll be visiting again very soon.

The food at Haandi is tasty, authentic, fresh, well prepared and well presented. From the piping hot naan to the zesty mango chutney, everything on the buffet table and menu is delectable. The only reason I have stopped frequenting this establishment is because of the behavior of the wait staff. From having your bill tossed at you (literally) to having your tabled cleared while you're still eating...the waiters truly believe they are doing you some sort of favor by waiting on you. God forbid your glass runs out of water or if you need extra naan! You won’t be attended to for a very long time and then you will be given a cold stare as your request is followed through. No one greets you at the door, no one wishes you well as you leave. It's as if they don’t want you to come and dine at their restaurant at all. It's as if they want to cook all this great food and just sit there at their own stuffy tables and eat to their heart's desire and go home every night without having earned a dollar in tips. Rude, uncouth, unprofessional wait staff ruins the otherwise pleasant experience at Haandi and therefore, they have lost one patron for life.

This is by far the best Indian food in the area. I recommend that everyone that loves Indian should stop by either this one or the one that is in Bethesda for an amazing dining experience!
