We have been coming here for about 4 years. They are always nice to us. We don't have any complaints. We understand the business. We always go there after work dinner time. My husband loves Sashimi because it doesn’t come with rice. I don’t eat anything is not cooked. Note: We are a good tipper Minimum is $50.00 for the two of us $ 100.00 with our friends out bills always $100.00 plus. When they saw us.They always take care of us and we joke around until we are walking out the door. We recommend this restaurant to anybody that has money to pay for the foods and the tips.

I went to Hana Tokyo based on the online reviews back in June for my daughter's graduation and I was very pleased with their service and food. So much so that I recommended them to my sister for my niece's 15th birthday party. BIG MISTAKE. We booked a party on 8/13/11 (a Saturday) for 1:30 PM, which was fine, but no one told us that they closed at 2:30 PM on this particular day! We even explained that we wanted to be there for 2-3 hours and have cake and etc. When we arrived, we were seated and a waitress/hostess came to the table demanding our orders immediately, before anyone had sat down or had a chance to look at a menu. We asked if we could have 5 minutes to review the menu and the waitress/hostess raised her voice at us proclaiming "we close at 2:30 and we need your orders now." My mouth fell open in shock of the disrespect we were receiving. My sister asked why we weren't told about the closing time beforehand and the waitress/hostess replied, "The closing time is on the door." I almost fell off my chair...how would we know what is on the door when we called to book a party and we are not regulars? Service just went down from there... When the chef came to the table, he did not perform any of the hibachi tricks and rushed our orders through without even speaking to us! We had to sit and watch other people being treated to the fun of hibachi style cooking while our chef ignored us. My niece was so upset because she was there for my daughter's graduation and knew that she was being ripped off...on her birthday...and cried. We had barely finished our ho-hum meals before the waitress/hostess slithered up to the table and tossed the check on the table. If I could have gotten away without paying them for this experience, I would have. I decided to write this review to warn people about the service they might receive if they show up at 1:30 PM on a Saturday...especially if you want to book a party for 8 or more people. We were treated so poorly that I will never go back and I will never recommend them to anyone for anything ever again.

I'm a huge sushi fan, and I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to Japanese restaurants. I've been to this restaurant twice, and each time I had a bad experience. My first time there was for lunch on a Saturday. I got there at noon, the restaurant was empty, and the manager, hostess, cook, or whoever that person was, was sitting in a chair near the cash register with a bored look. We are seated by the waitress, and things go downhill from this point on. I ordered the sashimi (which turned out to be average), and when it finally arrived after waiting about 30 minutes, there was no rice. I didn't want any because of the carbs, but at no time did the waitress 1) ask me if I wanted rice, or 2) bothered to ask how everything was. She'd occasionally make a guest star appearance. During our meal a few other customers showed up, and it amazes me how this over staffed restaurant (had 3 waiters doing nothing, as well as that bored person sitting in the chair) offered such horrible service. It almost appeared/felt as if we were bothering the staff. The second time I went there was for a teppanyaki dinner. The waitress was rushing everyone to order, and appeared irritated. Food was OK (cook was pretty good and put on a nice show), but I was almost done eating the main course when the waitress asked me (and the rest at the table) if we needed anything else, and then handed us our checks (I still had food on my plate that I was eating). There were people waiting by the entrance for a table, and they needed for me (us) to leave so the next group could use our table. Every body at my table paid and left, and me and my date stayed a little longer. I thought the hostess was going to physically kick us out; it was really uncomfortable, so we left (and we had put our chopsticks down no more than a 5 minutes prior to us leaving). So, we had 2 alcoholic drinks, two teppanyaki dinners (1 steak, 1 chicken), and $88 later we are almost kicked out so that the new suckers can be fed with 'just OK' overpriced food and average service. They should put a 'No Loitering' sign at the entrance of the restaurant!

The chefs cook in front of you and are very involved in the customers. The food is great and kids love it! Great for parties and dinner.

We go to Hana Tokyo several times a month and love it! My mother-in-law has serious food allergies and they even made her food on a back cooker with her special instructions so that she wouldn't have an allergic reaction. The staff has always been very friendly and we have always gotten our food quickly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

I visit Hana Tokyo multiple times per month and am never disappointed. Their teppanyaki chefs are entertaining, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. Great, small restaurant atmosphere. Call ahead on Fridays and Saturdays as this small venue fills up fast!
