My first time going so I went to the one in Oxon Hill. I've seen their add in Groupon. Gospel music is playing, I am like great so far so good so the food should be off the hook. Wrong! The lady kept taking orders and bagging the food to go. My two wings looked like they had been cooked the day before. The greens, I'm glad I had bacon drippings left over because I used it to season the greens. The corn bread was rock hard. The potato salad was the only part of my meal I enjoyed I will give that a 5. Now if I wanted good potato salad for sure I would stop by and buy some if I was in the area. I don't live near this area, but to try something different I did go out my way. Had the food tasted like soul food then I would not have mind paying the price nor burning gas in the rain.

I eat at this place at least one to two times per week. My preferred food is whiting fish sandwich with corn bread and greens. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the service or of the quality of the food. I highly recommend this place.

I bought a Living Social deal and decided to check the place out I had pork chops, my daughter had chicken wings and my fiance had turkey wings. Everything that we ordered was good

finally a soulfood restaurant with roots to the south. all of my food was prepared the traditional way fish straight from the fryer, collard greens fresh from the fields ,and candied yams pield peeled by hand ...not to mention real hand breaded fried chicken and the sweet potato pie that i had been hearing about which rumors to be Obamas favorite simply took straihgt to heaven...i applaud this place that keeping heritage and tradition of real soulfood...not imitated or watered down ...thank heaven for henrys

I went to Henry Soul Cafe on March 18, 2011, I called in my order. I should have just hung the phone up, I wanted to order a sweet potatoe pie, banana pudding, and okra, what did I hear? we are out of these items. I order a vegetable plate, the collar greens were too peppery, the potatoe salad was hard, the mac and cheese was subpar, and I order and a meat loaf dinner, it was dry, tasteless, and I requested the sause on the side, which I did not get. The corn bread was old, it crumble, I will never go to this restaurant again!! The food was poor, I wish I would have checked and taste my food before I left, I would have ask for my money back. I live in Virginia, I wanted to try the restaurant, this can't be the same one that Obama order from!! Highly disappointed!!
