Houston's Woodmont Grill
Posted by Marshal on 03/01/2015
The food is pretty reliable, and it's not an unattractive restaurant, though they should hire a designer to work on the noise problem. They are cheap, cheap, cheap and pricey when it comes to alcohol; the "glass" of wine had a very small amount of wine in it; " 7 ounce" claims to the contrary. One doesn't mind paying for a healthy glass of wine, but one learns to go elsewhere where the owners aren't trying to squeeze every extra penny out of bar service.

I agree with the reviewer who said this "Woodmont Grill" located in Bethesda is kind of like a priciey TGI Fridays. Its ok nothing great, and to me bears no relation in quality to the real Houston's that used to be in Georgetown and Rockville. The food is a step down and the prices a step up. Service was good and quick. All together this is a 3 star venue since I feel you can do as good for less and better for the same money. It does have that swanky Bethesda thing going for it, just don't get too analytical with the food. Competent but nothing exceptional.

One of the best vegetarian burger in town. The kale salad was absolutely delicious. A monthly vegetarian burger there is well worth the price. The service was excellent. Not a long wait for food.

We used to be regulars under previous management but had stopped going a while ago due to bad experiences. Well they've actually gotten much worse. Though half empty on a weekend night they actually refused to make our meal this time. As the other reviewer who asked for mushrooms on their overpriced burger (and was refused) notes if you aren't getting exactly what the menu says (no removals, no substitutions, no customization - even on a burger!) don't set foot inside.

I love it! It's a little loud and the wait can be extreme but food is fab!

What a disappointment ! Had dinner this evening. Started off with a Dirty martini @ 15.49 with rail liquor. What an insult. Do they think they are the Ritz? My companions ordered an apple martini and a Captain Morgan and Ginger ale ,only to be informed neither were available. Any neighborhood bar could fill these requests at half the price. The final straw for me was when one of the diners asked for mushrooms on his overpriced burger, and was told they don't have those on the line.

My daughters took me there for Mother's Day and it was fabulous. The NY Steak was as tender as a mother's love.
