Houston's Woodmont Grill
Posted by Ann on 09/13/2011
Have been dining at Houston's for several years. Used to get 2 filets on one plate when I ordered that dinner, used to get a salad, potato and veg. Not any more. The food is good but not as good as it used to be. The service is still good, friendly, but really sort of hurried. The place has gotten noisy now that there is a band at dinner the guests have to raise their voices to overcome the music. Wait was 50 minutes at 7:00 pm on a Friday night. One dinner, one desert, no drink with tip $52. I'll go back but not hurry to do so.

Everyone in the DC area was disappointed to find out that good ole Houston's was no longer (Georgetown, Rockville & Bethesda). But what we didnt know is that Woodmont Grill has the same menu as Houston's had (spinach dip & Hawian steak) and the atmosphere is still the same! WooHoo

i love Houston's Woodmont Grill. I was sadenend when it closed down, I thought it was gone forever. When i go there i love getting the grilled chicken salad with the lemon vinagerette and penut sauce... it so good. For an appetizer i like to get the french fries or the cheese toast. I love Houston's and I'm so happy that i discovered it on a bus ride to work. I would eat there everyday if i could!

I read some of the other reviews and felt obliged to post one supporting the quality of the food and service at the Woodmont Grill (aka Houston's). The name changed a little while back, in an attempt to make it more "local", but the food quality has stayed consistently high. It has been my experience that they try to overestimate the time it will take to get a table, so you are pleasantly surprised when it comes open sooner. In 15 years of dinning there, I've had one not so great meal. Not a bad batting average. We all have off days, and restaurants have them too. I don't know if some folks like to use the anonymity of the internet to slam businesses or just need to buy a larger set of underpants. Sorry they didn't recognize how important you were, Mr/Ms Assistant Deputy Manager, and tend to all your needs. Loosen up a little and have another cocktail.

this is my all time favorite place to eat in this area. the booths are intimate, the wine is robust, and the service is outstanding. it is exactly what going out for dinner should be, and, of course, the food is always mouthwatering. Thanks for bringing back the sashimi tuna salad.

I thought that the food was very good myself and would go back again.
