Il Porto has been a longstanding family favorite for many years now. Don't expect glamour or variety, but you can expect consistent home cooking that will fill your belly. This is mostly a red food joint, but the piccata is really good here as well. Go for the chicken or veal parmesan, or the sausage and peppers with pasta. Mussels are a good appetizer, but the portion isn't all that big. Get a large bottle of Chianti for 20-something bucks. The restaurant is absolutely adorable (I don't care how "outdone" people think red checkered table cloths are), it is cozy and welcoming all year round. In the winter they light the fireplace and your waiter (who may look like Rocky) will keep you happy. all in all - good food for a reasonable price. You really can't go wrong.

Tomato sauce on my thin rubbery chicken tasted like it had been drained from a can of chef boyardee or perhaps campbells tomato soup - looked like it too!! there are so many restaurants on kings street - really, dont chance it - it will not be worth it
