    Delicious and fun!

I enjoy everything about Jaleo. Exceptionally attentive staff, interesting and delicious small dishes and close to our DC Landsburgh apartment. Spinach with pignola's cracklingly hot and Brussels Sprouts on Acid! I've become a regular at the bar, due to the fine service and cold drinks. Chef Jose is often on premises, earning him a small gift of Maple Syrup from us. A gift well-earned...

Delicious Tastes for your Taste Buds

The 5 of us were in town for a conference and browsed a few places on-line to try out! Two of us split the chicken and mushroom paella and had the baked scallop tapas. The other 3 of us split the shrimp and squid paella and got to tapas: cheese with bread (with a tomato paste) and the Steamed Mussels. With some sangria, the meal was absolutely perfect! I didn't mind the small space and the high volume of people coming in and out. The ailoi was perfect with the paella. We just shared both paellas and the mussels were the best. They just melted in our mouths. Not only was the meal delicious, it was satisfying! I will definitely go back! I keep telling everyone about Jaleo and it's wonderful food. There's no need to complain about the price -- totally worth every dollar spent! Plus, it's Washington, D.C.---what do you expect to pay?

    Pretty Good

I did enjoy this restaurant. Food is very good. Service was pretty nice, just not too fond of the Interior. But Over all it was a pretty good experience.

    Visiting from N.Y.

Walked in because this place was across the street from my hotel. I was there with my mother and between us we got three tapas plates and an entree(comes without a side) + shared desert with two coffees. Everything was delicious, although I wished I did not order the tiny cheese plate, for the 6 bucks I could probably get a half pound to the two (was it even two) o.z. looking portion I got.The service was ok. The atmosphere was lacking, there was thankfully no loud music imposed on us but the acoustics in the place are deafening. Not only were we seated too close to the couple next to us to be privy to their conversation but the minimal use of fabric makes the room sound like a school cafeteria.

    Disappointed

I had been told about Jaleo from a friend and expected it to be a great place to eat. 1st the food was worse than cafeteria food. 2ndthe cost was ridiculous for the serving. PointI ordered the chicken and it was literally a skinless chicken thigh smothered in bbq sauce for six bucks...coulda had a V8. 3rd the atmosphere was okay. I do not plan to revisit.

    Top-Notch

This place is totally incredible from service to quality of food. Not knowing what to expect from tapas for lunch, we were completely amazed at the experience of tasting various flavors rarely encountered in everyday eating. Our waiter was attentive throughout, and recommended the duck confit (special of the day), which was astounding! Being thirsty guests, our water glasses were promptly filled again — even when half-full. All the dishes were incredibly tasty, especially the mussels with fresh tomato, and the seafood with saffon rice. All dishes were nicely presented. Although each dish was small in quantity, six dishes proved to satisfy our taste buds and stomaches. A delight to go to, and a definite place to return to for more! So many items to choose from on the menu... !

    Excellent food

Very good tapas with quite some original dishes. Not exactly cheap but all the dishes were done very well. We had several tapas and one very good serving of paella of squid which was extraordinarily fresh and tasted wonderful. You cannot find such good Spanish restaurant in San Francisco in the same price range but with such quality of food. The service was appropriate. The setting was on the noisy side, even on a weeknight, and we had to wait for about one hour. It is a great place for bigger parties but not very suitable if you are looking for a quiet dining experience.
