Very average quality
I heard it was called the best sushi of DC. If this is true, then it is just deplorable. Sushi of a very average quality. Do not take any skewed meet : that was of a lousy quality, right out of the next door grocery, just overcooked on coals. Waitresses in jeans, washed out t-shirts, loud music (no taste), staff at the open kitchen looked extremely unhappy bored and totally disinterested in what they did, or what the clients will get as a result of their cooking. Very average quality canteen. I would never go back...

Not just great sushi!
Next time you're in DC, need to check out Kushi Izayaka & Sushi. Aside from the great quality sushi, their charcoal grilled skewers make your stomach want to give your mouth a high five followed by a chest pound. The pork belly skewer needs to be first on your list of things you need to try (and maybe even second and third). It seems like this place is always busy so you know the sushi is fresh. Uni (sea urchin) with quail egg, Amaebi (sweet shrimp), Botan Ebi (spot prawn) and seared salmon belly (if your eyes were closed you'd swear you were eating butter) need to be part of your sushi picks. Although it's located in an up and coming part of DC (still has a little ways to get there), it's nice to know there's a police station 1.5 blocks away. Just be sure to lock your doors, close your windows and look both ways before you cross the street!

Quick, easy, and delicious
The service was immediate, the price was reasonable, and the food was delicious. I ate shrimp, duck, beef, and chicken, and each piece was better than the one before. A fabulous place to eat and enjoy.

eh....it was ok.
The food was good and the service was ok, but the fact that we came at 2pm really took away from the experience. Consistency of service? Something they need to learn. Waiting 5 minutes for the host to come back to the host stand, servers who didn't know their sections (and admitted it) and 3 attempts just to get water. I will not return for these prices. Sorry.

Chicken on a stick never tasted so good!
I love the casual pub feel of this place! There's a sushi bar, a robata bar, and a cocktail bar speckled with tables, chairs, and stools in between . You're seated and you just mark on your sheet all the Japanese pub grub you want and it all sporadically arrives at your table whilst you drink and socialize. The servers and staff are very nice and attentive. I can easily see it being somewhere I'll frequent
