Broadening my horizons
I'm mostly a meat and 'taters man, but a few weeks back, the wife convinced me to splurge a bit and try something new. Well, my only rule was that if we were going to drop some bucks on food, I didn't want to waste gas driving. So, we ended up at La Rue 123, a French place in Fairfax. Wow! A bit pricey, but impressive. I had duck for the first time. It came with these little potatoes flavored with garlic. Mmmm! I also has to chocolate cake that was liquid on the inside. Wife liked it too. That was the best. Wife had some salmon. I'm not a fish person, but I tried it. Pretty good. Okay, so maybe this is a "once in a while" place for me, but I will have to find more reasons to go because the food is the best. I also like the old building that it is in and the patio out back. We did not eat out there, but it looked pretty swanky. Can't wait to go back.
