    Excellent flavor

I have been in this restaurant 5 times. The frozen drinks are super! Love their menu and the food is delicious. I love their tasty "carne asada"

    The Food Says "Mall"

The restaurant is in a mall and it tastes like it -- extremely mediocre to poor and overpriced given the overall quality and experience. If you are looking for a place to eat in this area of Tysons Mall, go to Coastal Flats. Infinitely better food.

    Good Mexican Food

I love their guacamole, which is always fresh and made to order. Thier quesadillas are amazingly good. I argue with myself over ordering the mushroom or the shrimp quesadilla. My 3 and 5 year old also love the quesadillas and strawberry lemonades.

    Deeply Disappointed

My family ate at La Sandia at around 7:30 on a Friday night. We chose it because it was the only restaurant in the mall without a waiting list (i.e., Coastal Flats had a one-hour wait). Not only were we seated immediately, but there were many empty tables. This should have been a clear indication of what to expect. The atmosphere was severely lacking (we could very well have been sitting in a fastfood restaurant), but what was most disappointing was the food, which was bland and uninspiring. The guacamole appetizer was the only tasty dish (although not worthy of $9.50 for such a small amount). One dish ordered was the Baha Tacos for $14. The beer-battered tilapia tasted as if it had been frozen and not prepared to order, and it was topped with stringy slaw (which made the taco messy and difficult to eat) and flavorless sauce. The accompanying rice and beans were equally bland. We were forced to incorporate flavor to our dishes by adding salsa. As for service, it was slow (strange considering how few customers were present). The food was definitely not worthy of the prices. Will never again frequent this restaurant.
