    Disappointing pesto

Ordered the 'comfort' pasta with pesto. Disappointing, very dark, blah, oily pesto. Not flavorful at all.

Do not use for large parties

The party planner at La Tomate did not follow through with plans that we made months in advance for my party. We were sat in the wrong area of the restaurant, then moved after they took our drink order. They presented checks for the first drink while we were eating and said that they had to be settled immediately. Completely innapropraite. We had one large plate of pasta, a salad and 40 meatballs for $425.00 (17 people). We all could have had entrees for that price. I honestly did not care about the money and just wanted to leave ASAP. They were unapologetic and did not care about our experience. I feel taken advantage of. Disappointing dining experience on a night that I spent so much time on planning.

    great food and atmosphere

I eat brunch with the family at La Tomate on a regular basis. We love the open and airy atmosphere, particularly at the tables by the window. Favorite dishes include the crab & avocado appetizer, mixed olives, trout and grilled branzino or anchovies when they are available.

    Don't waste your time

The best part was the appetizer and that was about it! The entrée portions were small and the service was poor. Ordering drinks took forever. I will never go back!

    Disappointed

Had the trout, it was dry and too much pepper. Wine was mediocre. However, the service was excellent. For the cost and the quality of the food, it is not someplace I will go for dinner again.

    Simple dishes

simple spagetti and linguini. I must admit the sweet sausage was quite good. But....$20 a plate for generic chef-boy-rdee, I was very dissapointed. The linguini was quite overcooked with no redeaming flavor quailities. The salad was quite attactivly presented but did little to improve the overall dissatisfaction with the pasta. I mean, how do you mess up pasta. Service was alloof.

    La tomate

Delicious italian! One of those places that reminds you of Italy. Nice wine list.
