It's a cool place to bring a friend for dinner. I love their salmon stuffed with crab meat, and they have great salads too, the Monteray Salad is awesome and a ton of food. Omg, I recently had their coconut flan... It melts in your mouth, you have to try it. My bf doesn't like coconut, but he liked it. Ask for Christina, she is the best waitress they have. I've never had such a great waitress.

The food at Lauriol Plaza is pretty tasty, especially the guacamole. And I love the fajitas - great big flavorful chunks of meat, peppers, and onions. I like to go early before the crowds to get a seat - preferably outdoors on a nice evening.

You can't really deny this being a fun place if you can grab a seat. The service is pretty good considering how chaotic the place can get, but get there early. However, I used to love their salads but I think they might have changed their recipes. Last time I was there they looked different. Nonetheless, this place has a fun atmosphere, great salsa and reasonably priced.

...but then I realized that the only reason I had a good time is that you have to wait so long for a table that you've always had at least 2 or 3 drinks by the time you sit down. So you don't notice that the food isn't as good as a lot of other Mexican restaurants in DC, and that the service is really pretty indifferent. The atmosphere can be fun, only because the sheer number of people there. Definitely try to eat outside. I still go there once in a while, but it's completely lost its luster for me.
