Everything was great except the spaghetti
The risotto was good, as well as the chicken dish. But the spaghetti was unappetizing. My husband couldn't eat it, it had some kind of really strong unpleasant spice/flavor to it. I'm Italian and I'm telling you stay away from the spaghetti!

Wonderful!
My husband and I had a great meal there last night. The service was phenomenal and very attentive. We had questions about to of the wines and without asking the server brought us samples. The antipasto plate is a perfect portion for two. I got the gnochi with pear gorganzola and walnuts that was heaven. It had a little brown butter on it as a sauce which the light amount and taste complimented the other flavors. My husband ordered the sauteed scallop shrimp and lobster and enjoyed it as well. Overall a great value and experience. We will definately recommend Lavagna to our friends and neighbors.

Great New Neighborhood Place
We had a terrific meal. Outdoor seating is limited but we managed to snag a table on a Friday evening. The wood roasted artichoke appetizer was delicious. And our entrees - scallops and the seafood pasta - were wonderful. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. A good meal and a great value. What a pleasure to finally have a good Italian restaurant on Capital Hill.

Service
The service was not good. The food was barely fine, although most of the orders were done wrong. Chicken was under cooked. None of the sides were what was promised-- plain buttered noodles instead of risotto, for example. I regret going there. It was a frustrating experience, and embarrassing that we brought out of town guests.
