Visited 3/20/09 around 6:30PM and ate upstairs in the bar.. Legal Seafood's motto is "If it's not fresh, it's not legal" ... Well it MAY have been fresh but the catfish dish I had Friday was overcooked to the point of being tough, not flaky and the oil it was cooked in wasn't nearly hot enough, leaving a nasty oily taste to the fish. The shrimp and sausage sauce that accompanied the fish was quite good as was my wife's dish of tuna. On top of the poor meal, the waiter was inattentive, leaving our drinks at the bar for 10 minutes and not even noticing that I hadn't consumed the overcooked fish. Given the other reviews, perhaps the home office should investigate and some heads should roll.

I came here with high expectations and was very disappointed. The food is not bad ... not good, either. None of the flavors popped - everything tasted the same. And it's quite pricey considering the most positive thing about the food is that it's ... not poisonous. I won't go back.

Good New England clam chowder.....BUT...Unbelieveable noise......crashing dishes, yelling cooks, yelling waitstaff, slamming doors, bus boxes hitting the floor or being used to open the swinging doors. At our table for 5 we could not hear each other from across the table....the noise was that loud. I once felt slighted that I had never been to a Legal Seafood before and I was sure all my friends had, but now I don't feel so bad. "Been there, done that"...and won't ever again.
