    excellent location

This place is the very best of U street, I was throughly impressed with the food presentation and the food itself! The service was impeccable and the owner came by to visit patrons tables during our dinner! My melon martini was fabulous! I would definitely return to Mohagany Rest

    A definite pass

As a local on the U street scene I was excited to try the new kid on the block, Mahagony. First of all the service was poor. The waitress was rude and ignored us for the first 10 minutes. After finally getting to order our food came out cold. I know this place is new but get your act together.

    It Was Perfect

I chose this place for its history, appearance, and location which is close to my home in Columbia Heights. My parents from Illinois wanted to dine someplace in the neighborhood and that had atmosphere. We were graciously welcomed and the service was delightful. The menu was small, but each of us were very pleased with our choices - better a few good selections than a sloppy too many. The bar and lounge looked quite inviting as well, I will be returning.

The Real Deal on U Street

I visited Mahogany Restaurant and was more than pleased at the quality of food and the service. The restaurant has been recently renovated and has a warm and friendly atmosphere. I had crab cakes, chicken and salad. All very well prepared and delicious, The wait staff was very attentive and not overbearing. Service was prompt and courteous. The prices are reasonable and the place is very clean. This restaurant is one not to be missed. And after eating, you can go downstairs to the legendary Bohemian Caverns to hear the best in live jazz.

    City's best kept secret!

This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Washington, D.C. ! The food is simply delicious! A very seductive atmosphere, combined with a professional and attentive wait staff creates a wonderful dining experience. By far, the most intriguing dining experience along the U Street corridor.
