we were about to go to penang Malaysian restaurant but since it was closed due to some unknown reasons we decided to go to mai thai. we were kinda upset to see the closed board at penang. All the disappointment washed away after having excellent food at mai thai. chicken fried rice and colada were the best. I have tried those 2 at many thai restaurants but I would say they make the best ones. I would certainly recommend this restuarant for thai lovers....enjoy the excellent food!

The interior is extremely noisy and the wait staff is indifferent. The food was very generic and distinctly left the taste of MSG in my mouth. I would not recommend this for a nice dining experience.

I went here with a coworker and while the inside was beautiful, it felt like they sat us in their fridge. Everyone in the restaurant was complaining to their servers about how cold it was and no one did anything about it. The waiter took forever just to come and get our drink orders. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was ok but overly sweet! It tasted like someone had dumped a pound of brown sugar into the dish. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish but my coworker wasn't ranting and raving about the mussaman curry dish she had ordered, either. I might go back, if someone can recommend a good dish.

Very nice place to eat for lunch. I eat here weekly and have never been disappointed. Best arrival time is before 12:00 or after 1:00, otherwise may have a short wait. Worth the wait. My favorite is the Pineapple Red Curry.

I visited this place last Tuesday (July 3rd) and what a disappointment. We ordered the seafood special and it was way overcooked, the mussel were not edible! Crispy Duck wasn't crispy at all but greasy. The other dish was a fried rice which is just "ok". We had a female server and we have been telling her that the dish was overcooked and she ws just nodding her face and says "ok" ?? We also order 2 starters which were just average, total of our bill was $70s. I don't know what's the hype about this place? Maybe for Happy Hour meeting that's fine, nice atmosphere but def. not for food and service. We will not come back again.

Mai Thai is my new favorite thai restaurant. Most Thai restaurants seem to really dumb down their cooking to suit American tastes, but the chef at Mai Thai keeps the dishes spicy and interesting. Not only that but the interior is gorgeous with these beautiful terra cotta friezes on the wall and the service is consistently exceptional. I especially like the fact that they seem more concerned about serving the meal at a relaxed pace rather than turning over the table as quickly as possible.

I love this restaurant. The food is some of the best Thai food I've eaten, and I love it that I can have a vegetarian meal with flavor. If you enjoy Thai cuisine, check this place out--you will not be disappointed.
