I love Mai Thai! I've been to other Thai restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area and nothing compares to them. It may be slightly pricey than other cheap eats restaurants, but it's worth paying for. I usually order take out for lunch and come back for dinner sometimes and they never fail to satisfy me with their meals. I definitely recommend Mai Thai!

My co-workers and I went here on our lunch hour and this place was packed. We had to park across the street at colonial parking for $10 bucks becuase all the street parking was full. This little place is two stories high and most people sit upstairs to enjoy the view of the water. The street level has a bar and seats as well. Though they are right by the water, I did not enjoy the atmosphere as much as I enjoyed the food itself. The food tasted fresh, clean and flavorful. They seem to keep their oil to a minimum in comparison to other thai places. And we loved that. The atmosphere felt a little cramped and we felt rushed by the waiter taking our order (maybe just the time of day). The crispy banana w/coconut ice cream was delicious!!! We were delighted to find out that they offer delivery from Nov thru March so we took the carry-out/delivery menu's with us and ordered delivery the following day. The phone service was great and the delivery was fast. This won me over. Mai Thai is great place to dine if you are visiting Old Town on an outing. But I prefer their delivery option during lunch hour. :-)
