Poor Food Nice Service and Location
Uh, I think maybe the people who say this place is good haven't eaten Korean food anywhere else, like Anandale, Fairfax, New York, or LA. Even Wheaton is better. The spicy pork with rice noodles had a watery sauce that wasn't spicy, and the rice noodles tasted like they were straight out of a freezer bag. The jun were uninspiring, too. It's just not very good quality food. Nice people, though.

Excellent! Can't wait to go again!
I absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere, everything about this place! The dumplings were scrumptious as was everything else I tried! Not to mention the cosmos were EXCELLENT! Can't wait to come back!

Wonderful
I have been here a few times and always want to go back to try more. The service has always been amazing and I love trying new things. Great place.

Accessible, authentic hanguk yummy eats
The BEST jun, 'korean brunch,' and rice dishes in the heart of dc. Unpretentious, homestyle cooking here; catering to every palate -- Korean ex-pat to the just-learning Korean foodie. Mrs. Lee, the cook and owner, is everypersons' mom -- caring and wise, intuitive and commited -- makes your dining experience filled with homemade, satisfying, healthy food. Her son, Danny, manages and makes a wicked rum- or soju martini...he ensures that his his guests are well looked after and happy. Check this place out for some good homestyle Korean cooking (only the BBQ is missing) and a major dose of good karma.

A great experience!
We had dinner here earlier this evening, and I've got to say we had a great time. It was warm, so we sat outside, but even the interior seemed very pleasant and we loved the music they were playing. Our waitress was an absolute doll and couldn't have been any nicer. We had the Bibim Bap and the Kalbi, and both were delicious. Even the iced tea was fresh and tasty. We'll be back for sure!

Love it
Excellent menu selection. Loved the atmosphere. I have to agree with another rater, the atmosphere was better than the spots in Annandale. I will be going back.

Quality Korean food in the district
OK. So I have had MUCH better Korean food...in NYC. DC, however, is not NYC or Northern NJ. Nor is it Seoul. And I am not about to travel out to the suburbs to get some grub--even if there is tastier and more authentic food out there (as there is better Chinese, Peruvian, or El Salvadorean, for that matter). That is why I like Mandu. The service and atmosphere are superb. The food is very good (not excellent), portions are fine (we eat too much anyways--drink water with your meal it fills you up and is much better for you), prices are on the steep side but still affordable. If you want the real deal then go to Annandale or wherever. However, if you want a very tasty Korean meal and you live in DC then go to Mandu (and avoid the dumplings).
