    Excellence from a foodie!

The facts speak for themselves. Great infusion of flavors; wide variety of prices and tastes, and each dish is delicious. The staff is professional and personable! As a foodie, I eat out to try things I don't cook at home. At Medaterra, I've not once had a dish I didn't enjoy! Kudos to Angie & her Mom. Your pride & dedication keep locals like me coming back; and are tops on my list to recommend to others!

    Welcome home!

There are many places in the DC area to get Mediterranean style food - and while some may be more creative, some cheaper, and so on - none feel as much like a welcoming environment as Medaterra to us. Time and again we come, to celebrate our wedding rehearsal, birthdays, and time and again - anniversaries. Never have we been other than VERY, VERY pleased! Thanks Angie for making each visit more special than the last!!

    You've got to be kidding

Scary from the outset. On a busy night we thought, how could so many people be wrong? Oh, but they were. We chose to sit inside. Don't. It smells and the music is loud and insufferable. The reason the sangria is cheap? It's old wine that can't be served by the glass anymore. Given the level of service and the quality, I thought it would be a place for students, but check the prices. The food was tasty, but not as advertised. The chicken breast with angel hair pasta? It was a few sad pieces of chicken thighs. I know how much thighs cost and it's not $17. We should have left after the old wine and watered down martini.

    Great find!

We kept walking by this place all weekend long to and from the subway station and couldnt help eying the very refreshing looking sangrias which happened to be on happy hour last night for $3 a glass. What a steal. What sealed the deal was the fact that they had chicken tenders for the kids. The wait staff was all super nice and accomodating of the kids and strollers. I ordered a gyro even though it wasnt on the dinner menu and they happily obliged. It came with fries which was kinda weird but both the gyro and the fried tasted great. So did the falafel my sister ordered and even the kids' tenders. But the highlight of the night was the delicious (and strong) sangrias and the lively atmosphere. Both contributed to our leaving a little tipsy. Highly recommend the visit! Not a very long wait and prices were reasonable too.

Leave the hurry behind and enjoy

Deciding to partake of nourishment at Medaterra ought be a conscious decision. This, because nourishing you is a conscious decision on the part of the owner and the staff. The nourishment will come on plates and in glasses but don't be fooled to think it is all nourishment through food and drink. It will be nourishment to your soul and heart. The care taken to invite you to relax and partake of exquisitely presented traditional foods speaks to the intention behind this intimate cafe' location in the middle of Woodly Park. Your senses and your soul won't be the only aspects of your experience treated well -- so will your sense of value. The money you spend will be something you will gladly do again and again, knowing that what you receive in return transcends value as measured by dollars. Though the service is wonderful, you won't wait long for your treats to arrive, service is prompt and always with a HIGH level of courtesy. Enjoy!
