The food was not good
Wife and I stopped here for a sandwich and a milk shake....way overpriced 2 pieces of dried out sub roll with barely enough meat to taste. The topper was I asked for a glass of water and it smelled like dish water!!

Expensive but good
Take my kids there when visiting because they cannot afford to go. Decent food and convenient. Great desserts.

full menu full portions full price
Metro 29 offers an extensive menu and large portions which is what I tend to expect from a diner. Most everything I've tried was quite good. Not a fan of the pancakes - very yellow, dry and cake like. Still I don't go often due to the prices. When did diners start charging $17 for a basic roast chicken dinner?

A Real Favorite
We've been going to Metro 29 regularly since 1998 and I've never once been disappointed. The food is always good, the menu is comprehensive, and the large portions assure there's always at least another lunch to take home with you. Their hours are also wonderful -- if Metro 29's not open, go back to sleep for a little while and they will be. As a reliable family restaurant, they get my highest recommendation.

Excellent food and good value
I have eaten here at least 100 times since it opened. The food is always very good, ingredients are very fresh and high quality, and the service is good. The portions are generally too large for me but I keep going back. They do tend to cook vegetables until they are limp and lifeless, but salads are fresh and crisp. Bread and pasteries are home made on the premises. Crab stuffed mushrooms are excellent, prices as an appetizer but sized as a main course. Try the Greek specialties; they are very good and authentic.

Place your order - heres the check
During the last visit, we felt rushed. Although no one was waiting - it seemed the waiter was pushing the check as soon as the order was placed. Agree the food was over priced for 'diner' food.

Remember, it's a diner
The restaurant is a clean, well-lit place with decent service. If you stick to diner fare like burgers, meatloaf, egg dishes, and pies you're doing fine price-wise. If you move into the region of non-diner fare, expect to be gouged big-time. Unlike others, I can't say the portions are that large. Great for a Sunday brunch. Even better Saturday late-night when trouble-making diners are given the bums rush by the staff.
