    Not your typical Georgetown restaurant!

i got referred to mie n yu by the concierge at my hotel during my stay in washington dc. i've been to georgetown before, and generally like the atmosphere. i was not prepared for what was ahead of me though! i instantly felt as if i was in some sort of disney movie! the decor was fabulous, the atmosphere radiant, and the food sublime! the waiter helpfully pointed out that mie n yu's menu consists of 100% local beef and lamb - i was impressed! after a lot of contemplation i settled on their grass fed green tea steak and it was a great selection! i ordered some wasabi mashed potatoes on the side. to top it off i had a few glasses of the silverado cabernet sauvignon that they serve by the glass and i was mesmerized! my experience at mie n yu was delightful - its unique style and atmosphere is a must see for anyone in town for the weekend or on business. hats off to mie n yu - i'll be back shortly..

    Pleasant

Some coworkers and I went there for lunch and had a great experience. Our waiter was friendly and the food was delicious. Two men had ordered the falafel sandwiches and said they were great. I had the red curry mussels (large portion for only $6) and they were phenomenal! The chicken salad is different but tasty. One of my other coworkers tasted one of my mussels and put in an order for himself. We only had positive things to say about the food and the prices are quite reasonable!

    Not Good

I went on Feb 17 and was very dissappointed. We asked to be seated at a table with less traffic and were told we would have to wait 20-30 minutes even though they were able to seat others in the interim. Also, they were out of our selected dish and the wine we chose. However, they charged us for the wine we originally ordered not the wine they served. The wine served was not even listed on the menu. We got ridiculous excuses for all of the mishaps, the most ridiculous being that the computers were down; strangely enough they were able to process the check. Not worth the money or the time. Management was not helpful in rectifying the situation, clearly their bottom line is more important than customer service.

Great appetizers, not so great entress

This place has fabolous music, great appetizers, great desert. The only downfall are the entress which lack taste. I would check this place out on Saturdays for a drink and some snacks- the DJ is the best.
