Mount of Lebanon
Posted by Gail Chmura on 04/21/2015
My husband got a Philly Cheesesteak and said it was not like the usual--it was Lebanese style! HaHa. I had raw Kibbee and ask the butcher, who was going to prepare it to mince some onions to add to the mixture. It was a very dense Kibbee, too much pepper for me, but otherwise was good. I took 3/4 of it home (serving size was large) and made cooked Kibbee for dinner the next night. The restaurant is not very clean inside, although the tables had linens and nice settings. We had to go into the adjacent butcher shop/store that is connected to the restaurant to get seated. The desserts were OK. Baklava was better than the dry mahmood. We also asked for 3 hamburger patties from the butcher shop. I expected the bright red ones in the case, but got brown patties that smelled bad the next day and I threw them out. OH well. There is a side outdoor type room for smoking with a Huka. I wish there were Arabic music, but it was American pop music.
