Oohhs & Aahhs Soul Food

I love this restaurant! The food is always so good! They have the best macaroni I've ever ate in D.C. I always get their turkey wings. Had the ribs last week and they were nice, tender & delicious! The only two complaints I have is the high prices (which I quickly forget about once I start eating) & the 2nd thing is the HEAT! I know it has to be dangerous to work in that place at the temperature it is. I can't even wait in there for my food. Other than that I recommend this place for anyone that enjoys great Soul Food.

I went to Oohhs & Aahhs Soul Food restaurant on my birthday (9/19) and I felt right at home. I ordered the turkey chops, collard greens and yams and they were well seasoned, tender and absolutely delicious! The prices might seem high but believe me when I say "you get your monies worth"! I live in MD but I'm now a frequent customer on the weekends. It's also center in the middle of many clubs and bars so you get good food and entertainment at 1 stop!! See you there!

Found this place here on this site. Based on the reviews we ordered lunch to pick up.... Shrimp, not seasoned, Crab cakes are BOGUS, not lump meat at all and fried in the chicken mix they use to from chicken, string beans from a can not seasoned, steak sandwhich, real steak yes, but I could have done without the big glob of fat left on my SOGGY sub role and thanks for the ketchup on the fries, in that foam container I had nothing but mush. Anyone in there right mind should NOT go to this DIVE. If I am going to spend 25 bucks on lunch there are way better places to eat in DC.

I intern around the 14th and U corridor and my father wanted to know if there were any good soul food places around my job. I went onto my association's website and found Oohhs & Aahhs... So I went there after work to pick up food for my father and his girlfriend. The food seems a bit pricey for the food you are ordering but when you receive it...its worth the price. They give me so much food that my father said he had to save half of his food for dinner the next day. He has sent me back twice within two weeks just to pick up food and tries something new each week. I am suppose to be on a diet but I just had to try the macaroni and cheese, which is so....... good. A perfect place to pick up dinner to take home for a night of food and relaxation.

I had the opportunity to taste the delicious food from this place at a party. I'm from VA and was raised by my grandmother who made everything from scratch and with lots of love. I could taste home in this food. Even though it was being served in mass quantities for the party my plated tasted as if the cook slaved for hours for a family of four. It was wonderful!

We ordered up some grilled shrimp, turkey meatloaf and beef ribs. The shrimp and meatloaf were very good, but the ribs were outshone by the BBQ sauce. The sides were very tasty -- collard greens, corn bread, potato salad, phenomenal mac and cheese and yams. Definitely the place to go for some comfort food.

Being from the deep south and living there all my life, when I came to the city I am in constant search of food that reminds me of home. The food here was not bad, but it was not great either. I must say that the food is well seasoned; which is a plus. But the food was just not there. The lady in there was really nice, which made up for the drab atmosphere (definitely not some place to have a romantic dinner). Well there's my two cents for what it's worth.
