Osman & Joe's Steak 'n Egg Kitchen

My boyfriend got off work at 4 a.m. one night and scooped me up and took me here. I ordered my favorite breakfast, bacon and eggs over medium with hashbrowns and toast. Simple, but well executed. Perfect eggs and not overly greasy at all. Good coffee too. Would definitely go here again late in the night. It's tasty.

I was drawn to this place by the quaint, pastel-colored picket fence surrounding it and the promise of delicious breakfast food. Although the server was very efficient and polite, I was shocked by the food. This was the first time in my life that I have ever tasted bad bacon. I don't know if it was supposed to taste that way, or if it had simply gone bad and they decided to serve it anyway. The hash browns were also not what I expected. Instead of small cubes of deliciously spiced potatoes, I got thin strips of potato that tasted like burnt oil. And my eggs tasted the same as the hash browns. Never wasting my money here again.

This is absolutely my favourite Washington greasy spoon. I used to live in the neighbourhood and so could walk to Osman & Joe for a bite late, late, very late at night. Miss it now! What an extensive breakfast menu! I also love it that their "steak n eggs" menu is superior to the usual. Gosh, they have T-Bone steak & eggs! The long-term staff are real characters and will make sure your coffee cup doesn't remained unfilled for long. Breakfast lovers who want to eat breakfast anytime of day should come to this place!

It's a great late night place. hungry, want something quick and fattening this is the place to go. only problem there isn't a lot of seating. The service is pretty good. most of the employees are very friendly and if its not too busy they talk with the customers. Reminds me of diners back in new jersey.... and for a jersey girl at heart... its wonderful!
