Overall Very Good
Let me start this off with a simple fact - at Papermoon, you are paying for amazing service and atmosphere. When it comes to the food - yes, it's tasty. Yes, you could feed several people with a single entree. Yes, the entrees start around $15 and hop up to $25 for anything seafood or veal. However, Papermoon is not the cheapest Italian I've ever. What really seals the deal is flawless service and the hoppin' atmosphere. You can go on the cheap (we've done it) and it will cost you about $60 for 2 people including a bottle of inexpensive wine and an entree to split. I also love going with a group. Last week we had 9 people with 6 bottles of wine, salads and 4 entrees - including a hefty tip for our fantastic server - it was $31.50/pp. Good times

A Great Taste of Italy
The food at Paper Moon is consistently fresh and well prepared. The insalata di arugula with parmesan and apples makes a light but filling lunch. For dinner, when the restaurant is less crowded, I prefer the pastas. The ravioli ai procini is rich without being heavy, and the penne alla vodka is a far cry from the one-dimensional dish found in most Italian restaurants. Service is relaxed but attentive, and the music opts more towards Bob Marley than Frank Sinatra. Highly recommended.

Unique Atmosphere
My wife and I ate at Paper Moon every day of our trip three years ago. Now, I took a friend of mine who was visiting DC with me and we did the same thing five days in row. I had a 10% off the entire check coupon from the hotel. And the reason we went there is because of the wonderful! food that they serve. With the coupon I can go any where to other restaurant in the area that offer the same thing, but we always choose to go to Paper Moon. I always go there for dinner when I am in town for dinner. What's great about this place is the unique atmosphere- it feels like you're in historic European, je ne sai quoi? Another good thing is that there is always something for everyone on the menu: salads, pastas, seafood, chicken, veal and pizzas..etc. This place seems to inspire lively, fun conversation with all manner of groups. GO AND ENJOY

Not As Good As It Used To Be
The quality has gone down with this place. It's obvious a touristy place, but last time I was here the food wasn't as good as before. Our server was nice but clueless. There's a lot better Italian in the area.

Poor service
Two of our friends had their birthdays one day apart so we decided to go to Paper Moon to celebrate. The birthday celebration turned out to be very unpleasant. The waiter never asked what to serve for beverages, served water, then got confused and started serving club soda in the glasses that already had water on them. He poured water on my friend’s dress (which by the way was one of the birthday girls). Then he brought bread without butter or oil. The food finally arrived one hour later, and the dish for one of the birthday girls took 20 min. more than everyone else. We had brought our own cake for the girls and then they charge us $2 per person ($24 when you have 12 people) just for walking the cake from the kitchen to the table. They said it also included cutting the cake but WE DID IT since the waiter didn’t even brought spoons for the cake. We asked for the wine list, the waiter said that the restaurant didn’t have one, and one of our friends walked all the way to the bar and got one. Finally we decided to call the manager to complain for the service and ask for the cake charge to be taken out since we cut our own cake and we brought our own cake, he said that he didn’t care if we didn’t came back, which is why we are not only not coming back.
