Uniquely different or differently unique
An essential lunch counter. Find a dish you like and order it without surcease on future visits. Ned has perfected the gyro with this novel technique: he roasts, then cubes (not shaves) the lamb, portions it, and finishes it on the griddle when you order your sandwich. Even Einstein, with his special (1905) and general (1919) theories of relativity, didn't think of this. I rated the food 4.5 (not 5.0) only because I've tried so few items there. Princeton has its Institute for Advanced Studies (Einstein's refuge after emigrating here) Bethesda has Peter's Carryout.

I come back every time I'm in the area
Even though I now live in New York, I miss this place. Great food, great service, Ned, Bob and Manny-- the guys behind the counter love the customers and are always willing to talk about the Redskins or leave you alone if you so desire. My favorite: Grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and Russian dressing!
